Defence Anglicans warmly congratulates Chaplain Steve Wakeford, who has received a commendation for his noteworthy achievement as Support Chaplain of the Trainee Rehabilitation Wing at the School of Military Engineering, Holsworthy.
Through his pastoral care and welfare support, Steve has made a meaningful difference in the lives of trainees undergoing rehabilitation. His ministry has supported their wellbeing and helped them continue their personal and professional development during what can be a demanding period in their Army journey.
Chaplain Wakeford has also helped strengthen the Trainee Rehabilitation Wing framework. His contribution has included ethics and world views training, psychosocial development and access to external training opportunities.
Through this work—and his passion, capability and selfless commitment to chaplaincy—Chaplain Wakeford has supported the safety, development and rehabilitation of more than 140 Army trainees.
His service has extended beyond the Trainee Rehabilitation Wing. The commendation also acknowledges his unwavering support for personnel throughout the wider Holsworthy Barracks community.
