Who we are

  • – We are part of a broad and inclusive church, where all people may find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance and encouragement.
  • – Our identity and motivation is founded on the extraordinary life changing and life giving work of Jesus Christ; his life, death, resurrection, ascension and imminent return.
  • – Our practice is guided by an ancient and deeply grounded tradition of biblical and theological reflection, based on scripture, guided by our experience and a conversation with the community of believers across all ages.
  • – Our worship is shaped by centuries of liturgical tradition and practice but is also dynamic and adaptive so that it speaks to every new generation.
  • – Our identity, practice and worship inform who we are as men and women, called by God to serve in the ADF as Chaplains. It shapes what we do and our practice of pastoral care.
  • – Every single person we meet is made in the image and likeness of God and therefore of infinite worth and value and deserving of our full attention.
  • – We have been given a ministry of reconciliation to call people back into a relationship with God, and we do that respectfully, with patience and love.
  • – We seek to build spiritual health and resilience in those we care for so that they also might become resources for spiritual health and resilience among their peers.

Mission Statement

We are Anglican clergy called to minister, proclaim and witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ within the ADF community.

Vision Statement

As Anglican chaplains we desire that all may know the reign of God (Mt 28:19, Col 1:28).

–  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)
–  He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.  (Colossians 1:28)

Under God we seek to serve the ADF community by:

–  Restoring the broken.
–  Awakening people to God.
–  Inviting the community into relationship with Jesus.
–  Sustaining and nurturing them on their faith journey.
–  Praying for the community.
–  In all this we demonstrate the love of God.
